ABOUT US 

Gombe State Cooperative Finance Agency (CFA) is located in Gombe state, the jewel in the saannah. Gombe state is eligatarian state with over 80% of the population predominantly engaged in peasant farming. Majority of these small holder farmers (SHF) have limited disposal income and lack basic skills on modern techniques of operations of their business endeavours. This has led to several gvernment initiatives to address these challenges but without meaningful results. It was against this background that many farmer cooperatives emerged with the objective of implementing communal solutions to the problems faced by the small holder farmers and micro businesses in the state. 

Gombe State Cooperative Financing Agency (CFA) was established as an umbrella body to harness the great potentials of the primary cooperatives in the state by coordinating and protecting the interest of the various cooperative socieites in the state. The mandate of CFA is to empower and protect the interst of all stakeholders, source for most commercially viable funds from financial institutions and other agencies to support the growth and development of its members.

Gombe State CFA was incorporated in June 1997 following the creation of Gombe State. Curently, CFA has over 3,600 registered members of which 80% of ithe members are enaged in agriculature. Its membership include seven (7) cooperative unions and three (3) other apex cooperatives. The total farmer membership of the CFA is over 585,658 individuals. 

Gombe State CFA has the following objectives:

1. To serve as a central financing agency for all the cooperative organizations in Gombe State 

2. To promote thrift and credit among its affliate 

3. To invest in viable ventures with surplus funds of its members for the overall development of the cooperative movement in the state 

4. To assist, cooordinate and develop the financial act of its affliates 

5. To borrow and giarantee loan for its affliate cooperative societies. 

6. To provide essential farm inputs and purchase the surplus produce from its members 

7. To provide member cooperatves with education, training, public enlightenment and cooperative staff manpower development. 

8. To promote the development of coperatives in general within the state. 

9. To contract business with any national and internation organizations that will enhance the development of cooperative movement in Gombe state in particular and Nigeria in general
